Paper Clip Photo/Inspiration Holders

I found a big bag of these large size binder paperclips the other day at a thrift store for $1.99. I have seen other people cover them with fabric/scrapbook paper/Washi tape, and I often spray paint the little ones, but I wanted to try something different this time. I've been trying to use up some of my scraps of vintage sheet music and book pages so this was the perfect project for that.

First, I just eyeballed a piece of paper to fit from one end of the metal to the other, trimmed it to fit, and then I used that as a template for the others as the clips were all the same size. I used a glue stick to press the paper on the metal and let it dry.

If you use one piece of paper, you'll get a "reversible" clip; the text/musical notes will be upright on one side as a hang on the wall clip and then upright on the other side as a stand up note holder. This one I wanted to use only as a stand up note holder so I cut it into 3 pieces and glued so the text would be upright on both sides.

I thought about embellishing them further, but decided to keep them as is for now. You really could use just about any kind of paper/labels/theme. I made one from a children's book Christmas story to use for the holidays. Here are some more display ideas...

Potted Hyacinth

My single potted hyacinth bulb has finally bloomed. Such a small thing, but it really makes me happy!

This is what it looked like a couple of weeks ago. I used an upside down glass
candle hurricane as a cloche when it was just starting to bud...

This single flower smells so wonderful...the scent fills up my little garden room...

Spring is officially here!
